Greene County Middle School

Greene County Middle School, in North Carolina, was destroyed by a tornado in the spring of 2011 and was in need of a kitchen and dining hall for their students for the start of the 2011-2012 school year. The project had to be completed by August 1, 2011. This project took six weeks of build time to construct the customized units at our North Carolina manufacturing facility. On-site installation took approximately two weeks.

The modular kitchen complex was constructed from ISBU modules. The individual modules ranged in size from 8’ by 10’ to 8’ by 40’. The kitchen consisted of eight total modules, including units for cooking, food prep, pot washing, lavatory, climate controlled dry storage, refrigeration and freezer walk-ins. A 54’ by 60’ modular dining hall was also constructed to feed approximately 800 students over four shifts. U.S. Mobile Kitchens provided the cafeteria tables, refrigeration, food warming cabinets and other interior equipment and furnishings to help complete the needs of the dining hall.
