Phoenix Community Development Services (Peoria, IL) turned to U.S. Mobile Kitchens for a mobile solution to provide restrooms, showers, and laundry to individuals experiencing homelessness in the local area. Called HOWIE ("Hygiene. On. Wheels. Independence. Empowered"), the truck features a hydraulic wheelchair lift, two sets of washers and dryers, a single shower stall, a single toilet stall, and a separate ADA restroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. The truck is fully self-contained with an onboard diesel generator, onboard propane tanks, onboard potable/waste tanks, and HVAC.
